Whether you're new to construction or looking to build a stronger foundation, this introductory course will teach you how to confidently read and interpret construction blueprints. Participants will learn the purpose of construction drawings, understand common symbols and abbreviations, navigate floor plans, elevations, sections, and details, and identify key information needed on the jobsite.
This hands-on course is ideal for office staff, project coordinators, field personnel, apprentices, and anyone who wants to better understand construction documents. No prior blueprint reading experience is required.
Topics include:
- Blueprint basics and drawing organization
- Construction symbols, abbreviations, and scales
- Reading floor plans, elevations, and sections
- Understanding dimensions and specifications
- Finding critical project information quickly
- Practical exercises using real construction plans
